Max Group donates Tk 30m to PM's fund

Max Group, one of the largest engineering companies of Bangladesh, has donated an amount of Taka 30 million to Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund to combat the Coronavirus outbreak in the country. Furthermore, employees of all stages of the company have a contribution in this humanitarian initiative, said a statement.

Engr. Ghulam Mohammed Alomgir, Chairman of Max Group along with Director Kaniz Fatema handed over the donation cheque at an event organized by the PMO on Sunday.

Later on, Engr. Alomgir said “Presently our country is going through a tough battle against COVID-19 Pandemic and we are always ready to stand beside our Honorable Prime Minister to fight this battle. From our company, we are continuously supporting the helpless segment of society. Besides, we are working relentlessly to ensure the well-being of our employees including the foreign workers. We sincerely hope that very soon we will overcome this catastrophe under the solid leadership of Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, MP.”

Union Bank

Employees of Union Bank Limited have donated their one-day basic salary for the people, who have been suffering during the nationwide lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic, said a statement.

In this aspect A. B. M Mokammel Hoque Chowdhury, MD & CEO of Union Bank, said, "Really we are very lucky to stay besides the people of the country.

As a frontline fighter, bankers have huge responsibilities to our beloved country". Mr. Chowdhury also gave special thanks to all employees of the bank for the sacrifice to humanitarian and responsible assistance.
