Approves 110pc cash dividend for shareholders

The 39th AGM of Meghna Petroleum Ltd was held at Chittagong Boat Club on Saturday with Chairman of the board of directors and Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem in the chair.

CHITTAGONG, Jan 20: The Annual General Meeting of the Meghna Petroleum Ltd today approved 110 per cent cash dividend for the shareholders.

The 39th AGM was held at Chittagong Boat Club this morning with Chairman of the Board of Directors and Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem in the chair.

The meeting was participated by a large number of the shareholders.

It was attended by Syed Md Mozammel Huq, director (operation and planning), BPC, Shankar Prasad Dev, director, Mrs Parveen Akhtar, director and additional secretary, Energy and Mineral Resources, AKM Jashim Uddin, independent director, Istaque Ahmed Shimul, director, Md Masudur Rahman, shareholder director, Mir Saifullah al Khaled, managing director of Meghna Petroleum Ltd, company secretary Ahmed Shahidul Haque, BPC director (marketing) Mir Ali Reza and secretary Kazi Mohammed Hasan, among other senior officials.

The meeting was informed that the Meghna Petroleum Ltd made a profit of Tk 2.1948 billion (Tk 219.48 crore) after paying all taxes in the year 2016-17 and the income was Tk 20.28 per share.

The Board of Directors unanimously approved 110 per cent cash dividend for shareholders.

The shareholders praised different development activities of the company, expected its greater success and thanked all concerned for the achievement.
