Mercantile Bank gets Licence of Mastercard


Mercantile Bank has joined hands with Mastercard by securing a licence from the global payment technology service provider. This partnership will extend the bank's card services, making them more advanced and technology-driven. Mercantile Bank has been granted the licence as a principal member. Syed Mohammad Kamal, country manager of Mastercard, handed over the licence to Morshed Alam, MP, chairman of Mercantile Bank, at a ceremony held at the bank's head office. Md. Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, managing director of the bank, delivered a welcome speech on the occasion. Through this partnership, Mercantile Bank can now provide enhanced payment facilities to its customers worldwide, alongside the existing VISA card services. Customers can enjoy ATM and POS transaction facilities globally wherever Mastercard is accepted.
