Mercantile Bank opens 'Islamic Banking Branch':

 Mercantile Bank Limited opened Shariah-based complete 'Islamic Banking Branch' at Dilkusha in the capital on Thursday. The bank's Chairman Morshed Alam, MP, inaugurated the branch by cutting a ribbon as the chief guest while Managing Director & CEO Md Quamrul Islam Chowdhury presided over the opening ceremony. ASM Feroz Alam and Md Abdul Hannan, Vice Chairmen; M Amanullah, Chairman, Risk Management Committee; MA Khan Belal, Chairman, Mercantile Bank Securities Ltd.; Akram Hossain (Humayun), Mosharref Hossain and Mohammad Abdul Awal, Directors of the bank; and Maulana Shah Mohammad Wali Ullah, Member of Shariah Supervisory Committee, spoke as special guests.
