The Board of Directors of Midland Bank Limited (MDB) has re-elected Nilufer Zafarullah and Md Shamsuzzaman as chairman and vice chairman of the bank respectively at its 115th meeting recently, says a statement.
Nilufer Zafarullah served as vice chairman of the Board of Midland Bank since its inception until September 2018 and thereafter, she is serving as chairman of the Board.
She was a member of the 9th and 10th parliament. An architect by profession, Mrs Zafarullah has contributed to the education sector and development for over 25 years.
She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) and Chittagong Independent University (CIU).
She is a director of Hong Kong Shanghai Manjala Textiles Ltd. and donor trustee of Begum Zebunnesa & Kazi Mahabubullah Jono Kallyan Trust.
Vice Chairman Md. Shamsuzzaman, a renowned industrialist, is the owner of Micro Fiber Group and a Nominee Director of Liberty Knitwear Ltd. at the Board of Midland Bank.
He acted as the chairman of Risk Management Committee and Member of the Audit Committee of the bank in his previous term.
He is the managing director of Liberty Knitwear Ltd., Orient Chem-tex Ltd., Micro Fiber Ltd. Midland Knitwear Ltd., A-One Polar Ltd., Tangon Garments Ltd. and Turbingen Chemicals (BD) Ltd.
