Mobile cos offer Ramadan services

Most of big players in the country`s mobile telecommunication industry have introduced some religious contents for their customers on the month of holy Ramadan.

The contents provided by the telcos are mainly listening opportunity of Tilawat-e-Quran, Azan as ringtone and some alert services for Sehri and Iftar. Users can access this content by using a command service code from the operators.

Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi and Airtel are mainly offering the services.

Industry insiders said the aim of the service during fasting month is to win the customers` royalty and also earn some extra revenue.   

The largest operator -Grameenphone-is offering alert service for Sehri and Iftar. People who will subscribe for the services will get advance alert before the timing of Sehri and Iftar. For getting the service, customers need to write 'Start' then space and write "IS' in massage option. Later it has to send to the number '2200.'

For Namaj and Hadees alert, there is need write 'Start' and then 'NH' by giving space and send it to the same number '2200'. Besides, the users can set 'Azan" as welcome tone by writing 'WT Start Azan' using space in massage option and later it has to send to the number 4000.

The second largest mobile phone operator has introduced 'Ramadan bundle offer'. Its subscriber will enjoy 10 minutes free Tilwat-e-Quran by dialing *2200*111#

The operator has also introduced another service as Islamic Portal. By dialing 786, the Banglalink users will get difference religious base services.

Mobile phone operator Robi has announced a bonus offer on specific recharge. If any prepaid customer do recharge Tk28 or Tk58 will get 800 per cent bonus.  

Airtel is also offering some religious contents during the holy month. Mobile TV and Airtel Ebadat are the mentionable service.
