Mohammed Salim joins Eastland Ins as CEO

Mohammed Salim has taken up the role of chief executive officer (CEO) at Eastland Insurance.

He brings 30 years of experience in the insurance sector to the company, having previously served at state-owned non-life insurer Sadharan Bima Corporation (SBC) for three decades, said a press release.

Mr Salim began his career at SBC as an assistant manager and rose through the ranks, retiring as general manager and head of Finance, Accounts, Re-Insurance Accounts and Investment Department.

During his tenure, he held key positions in various departments at the head office, including Audit & Compliance and Real Estate.

He also served as head of several zonal and branch offices, including in Chattogram, Dhaka and Bangabandhu Avenue.

Mr Salim holds a Diploma in non-life insurance and is an associate of the Bangladesh Insurance Academy (ABIA).

He also completed a comprehensive insurance course and training at the National Academy for Planning & Development (NAPD).

Besides, he participated in various domestic and international training programmes on underwriting, claims management, insurance and reinsurance management.

Mohammed Salim was born in a respectable Muslim family at Begumganj Upazila of Noakhali district, the statement said.

He completed his B. Com (Hons.) and M. Com. in Management from Chittagong University.
