Most of the listed textile companies have reported increased earnings for the January-March quarter (Q3) of 2018 as compared to the same period of previous year.
According to un-audited financial statements, the earnings per share (EPS) of Square Textile was Tk. 0.61 in the Q3 of 2018 as against Tk. 0.39 of the corresponding quarter last year.
Alif Industries reported EPS of Tk. 0.86 in the Q3, 2018 as against Tk. 0.54 in the Q3 of 2017.
The EPS of Hamid Fabrics was Tk. 0.52 for January-March 2018 as against Tk. 0.18 for January-March 2017.
Apex Spinning & Knitting Mills reported its EPS of Tk. 0.88 for January-March 2018 against Tk. 0.76 for January-March 2017.
Argon Denims' EPS was Tk. 0.93 for January-March 2018 against Tk. 0.92 for January-March 2017.
Evince Textiles reported consolidated EPS of Tk. 0.39 for January-March 2018 as against Tk. 0.33 for January-March 2017.
Generation Next Fashions reported EPS of Tk. 0.18 for January-March 2018 as against Tk. 0.16 for January-March 2017.
HR Textile reported its EPS of Tk. 0.53 for January-March 2018 as against Tk. 0.33 for January-March 2017.
The other companies whose EPS rose in January-March, 2018 as compared to same period of the previous year were Hwa Well Textiles (BD), Maksons Spinning Mills, Malek Spinning Mills, Matin Spinning Mills, Modern Dyeing & Screen Printing, Nurani Dyeing & Sweater, Pacific Denims, Dragon Sweater and Spinning, and Prime Textile Spinning Mills.
Paramount Textile, Rahim Textile Mills, Saiham Textile Mills, Safko Spinning Mills, Shasha Denims, Shepherd Industries and Stylecraft also have reported increased EPS for January-March, 2018.
Among the companies whose EPS declined for the Q3 of 2018 compared to same period of the previous year were Al-Haj Textile Mills, Alif Manufacturing Company, Anlimayarn Dyeing and Desh Garments.
The EPS of Al-Haj Textile Mills was Tk 0.09 for January-March 2018 as against Tk 0.63 for January-March 2017.
Alif Manufacturing Company reported its EPS of Tk 0.42 for January-March 2018 as against Tk 0.47 for January-March 2017.
The EPS of Anlimayarn Dyeing was Tk 0.08 for January-March 2018 as against Tk 0.24 for January-March 2017.
The Dacca Dyeing & Manufacturing Company reported a loss of Tk 0.94 per share for January-March 2018 as against the loss of Tk 0.50 per share for January-March 2017.
Delta Spinners reported consolidated EPS of Tk 0.06 for January-March 2018 as against Tk 0.08 for January-March 2017.
The EPS of Envoy Textiles was Tk. 0.48 for January-March 2018 as against Tk 0.50 for January-March 2017.
Of the other companies, the EPS of Mozaffar Hossain Spinning Mills, Queen South Textile Mills, Regent Textile Mills, RN Spinning Mills and Saiham Cotton Mills also declined for January-March, 2018 compared to same period of the previous year.
Simtex Industries, Tung Hai Knitting & Dyeing, Zaheen Spinning, Desh Garments and Zahintex Industries also reported less EPS for January-March 2018 compared to same period of the previous year.
The companies which incurred losses in January-March quarter of 2018 were Mithun Knitting and Dyeing, Sonargaon Textiles, Tallu Spinning Mills, Tosrifa Industries, Dulamia Cotton Spinning Mills, and Alltex Industries.
