Engineer Nasir Ahmed has been appointed as a member (engineering) (current charge) of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) through a government order issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology recently, says a press release.
Prior to his new assignment, he had been serving as the director of Engineering Division at the head office of BAEC.
Nasir started off his career in BAEC as a senior engineer and head, Isotope Hydrology Division, Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology, AERE, Savar.
Throughout his career at the BAEC, he has made outstanding contributions to research and development activities.
He played an important role in popularising the application of Isotope Technique to the field of research on water resources, conducted by universities and government directorates.
Mr Ahmed did his graduation in civil engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1988 and post-graduation in water resources engineering in 1996.
He has some research articles on Isotope Hydrology published in national and international journals. He has been recognised as Certified Professional Engineer of IEB.
