New directors appointed to Board of Community Bank

Bangladesh Bank has approved the appointment of six new directors and three independent directors to the Board of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC in accordance with regulatory requirements, says a press statement.
According to the official notification, the newly appointed directors are A.K.M Awlad Hossain, Additional Inspector General (Admin), Bangladesh Police; Md. Akram Hossain, Additional Inspector General (Finance), Bangladesh Police; Abu Naser Mohammed Khaled, Additional Inspector General (HRM), Bangladesh Police; Md. Sibgat Ullah, Additional Inspector General (CID), Bangladesh Police; Sarder Nurul Amin, Additional Inspector General (Development), Bangladesh Police; and Md. Kamrul Ahsan, Deputy Inspector General (Confidential), Bangladesh Police.
The newly appointed independent directors are Dr. Md. Morshed Hasan Khan, Professor, Department of Marketing, University of Dhaka; Syed Rafiqul Haq, Former Additional Managing Director, Mutual Trust Bank; and Mohammed Tofazzul Hussain, Managing Partner, Amin Hossain & Co., Chartered Accountants.
With the inclusion of these distinguished professionals, the Board of Directors of Community Bank Bangladesh will be further strengthened to accelerate growth, enhance corporate governance, and reinforce shareholders' confidence in the bank, the statement added.
