LafargeHolcim top executive due today

Ms. Caroline Luscombe, Member of the Executive Committee and Head of Human Resources of LafargeHolcim Group, is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka today (Thursday). During her visit, she will be meeting the LafargeHolcim Bangladesh leadership team as well as high profile HR professionals, business Leaders and customers. A British national, Ms. Luscombe has been a member of the Executive Committee of LafargeHolcim Group since July 2016, and is responsible for Human Resources. She graduated from University College, London and has wide experience of working in leading global companies like Syngenta and GE Group. She joined LafargeHolcim Group in January 2010. LafargeHolcim is world's leading construction materials and solutions company with presence in 80 countries. In Bangladesh, the Group operates the only fully integrated cement plant at Chhatak and three grinding plants across the country. — Statement

AIBL launches ‘SWIFT Sanction Screening Solution’

Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited (AIBL) on Wednesday introduced real-time "SWIFT Sanction Screening Solution" to screen all its cross-border transactions to combat money laundering and terrorist financing crimes. Md. Habibur Rahman, Managing Director of the bank, inaugurated the programme as chief guest at the bank's head office in presence of guests including representatives from the correspondent banks, and expressed his strong commitment to continue their fight against all sorts of financial crimes. "We believe this integration will help our bank to remain more secured and compliant in processing cross-border transactions," he said. This is one of our commitments to prevent Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, he added.
