The Board of Directors of ONE Bank Limited has elected A.S.M. Shahidullah Khan as its Chairman for one-year term from October 15, 2020. The Board has also re-elected Asoke Das Gupta as its Vice Chairman and Zahur Ullah as the Chairman of the Executive Committee (EC), said a statement.
Mr. A.S.M. Shahidullah Khan is a son of late Justice and ex-speaker Abdul Jabbar Khan. He has graduated from the University of Dhaka. He stood 1st in the combined merit list in SSC examination under the Dhaka Board and obtained 1st class in Physics (Hons) from Dhaka University. He was a valiant freedom fighter. He actively participated in the Liberation War of Bangladesh under sector-2.
Mr. Shahidullah Khan is the Managing Director of Media New Age Ltd and the publisher of the Daily New Age. He is a Director of Holiday Publication Limited.
Mr. Khan was adjudged, among other things, as the All Pakistan best Scout in 1965, All Pakistan Debate Champion in 1967. He is a Member of the Board of Trustees of Bangladesh Protibondhi Foundation (an organisation for Disabled Children).
Mr. Asoke Das Gupta has been re-elected as the Vice Chairman of ONE Bank Limited. He is a reputed businessman and a freedom fighter. He is the Chief Executive of IMTREX and the Managing Director of Uniroyal Trade Limited. Mr. Asoke Das Gupta is also the Chairman of Uniroyal Securities Limited and Ocunova Eye Hospital.
Mr. Zahur Ullah, Director of ONE Bank Limited, has been re-elected as the Chairman of the Executive Committee. He is a prominent businessperson. He graduated in finance from the University of Dhaka. He is involved in buying, manufacturing, and export of readymade garments and allied products. Mr. Zahur Ullah is the Chairman of LL Group and also the Managing Director of GTEX Ltd. He is one of the directors of Holiday Publications Ltd.
