Revision of Investment Corporation Bill, 2014 discussed

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Finance Sunday elaborately discussed about the progress of revising the "Investment Corporation of Bangladesh Bill-2014", reports BSS.
Committee member M A Mannan, Nazmul Hasan, Tipu Munsi, Farhad Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman Chowdhury, M Shawkat Chowdhury and Akhter Zahan took part on the discussion at the meeting held at Jatiyo Sangsad Bhaban with committee chairman Dr M Abdul Razzaque in the chair.
The Investment Corporation of Bangladesh Bill-1976 is being revised to encourage investment to Bangladesh, develop capital market, collect saving and assist other related issues.
The revision of the law would also help to implement the directives of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission for introducing uniform price (Tk 10) for mutual fund and shares of all listed companies.
Dr Razzaque asked the Bangladesh Bank to inform the committee it measures about preventing money laundering and future plan to stop the illegal transaction of currency.
Bangladesh Bank Governor, additional secretary of finance ministry and other officials concern were present at the meeting.
