Engr Md Rezaul Karim has been appointed as the chairman of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), says a press release.
He will take charge as 39th chairman of BPDB today (Sunday). Prior to joining, he was a member (distribution) of BPDB. He replaces BPDB former chairman Engineer Mahbubur Rahman.
Rezaul Karim was born in Bogura on June 7, 1967. He obtained B.Sc. Engineering (Electric) degree from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) in 1989.

He started his career in BPDB on August 17, 1991 by joining the Khulna Power Station as an Assistant Engineer. He also served as Deputy- Divisional Engineer, Executive Engineer and Manager (Superintending Engineer) at the power station.
In addition, he was appointed as Deputy-Project Director at Maitry Super Thermal Power Plant, Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company Ltd, on April 2018. He also served as Additional Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer (Distribution South) at BPDB.
