Several rights groups led by EquityBD at a press conference at Jatiya Press Club on Sunday termed the proposed budget and especially its tax policy anti poor as it lacked the principles of distributive justice. They also criticised the government for recapitalisation of state owned banks from budgetary allocations by over Tk 50 billion which is essentially tax payers money, they said. They said the banks were swindled by highly corrupt business houses and individuals having support from highly influential political leaders.
