Robi, Citycell\\\'s subscribers inch down in June

Subscriber base of the mobile operator Robi (Robi Axiata Limited) and Citycell (Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Limited) inched down in June last although the overall growth continues to rise.
According to the latest data of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), the number of subscribers of the two operators downed to 24.02 million and 1.42 million from 24.08 million and 1.43 million respectively.
Official statistics available with the telecom regulator showed the number of the country's mobile subscribers 116.55 million until June last that was 116.24 million during the previous month (May).
However, other operators including leading telecom service providers GP (Grameen Phone Limited) and Banglalink (Banglalink Digital Communications Limited) maintained an upward trend with the increased number of subscribers---from 49.09 million and 29.63 million to 49.23 million and 29.75 million respectively.
Meanwhile Airtel (Airtel Bangladesh Limited) ranked fourth pushing its subscriber base from 8.50 million to 8.54 million, and state-run telecom operator Teletalk Bangladesh Ltd secured 5th position amid slight increase in number of users from 3.52 million to 3.60 million.
