Rozario new shareholder-director of DSE

Richard D' Rozario, managing director of Global Securities, has been elected uncontested as a shareholder-director of the Dhaka Stock Exchange for the next three years.
Mr Rozario will replace Md Siddiqur Rahman, chairman of Sterling Stocks and Securities, who is retiring from the DSE board in line with the demutualisation scheme.
Mr Rozario is the outgoing president of DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA).
The three-member DSE election commission headed by Justice Md Abdus Samad, a retired High Court judge, declared Mr Rozario as new shareholder-director of the premier bourse.
As per the DSE election schedule, November 26 was the last date of submission of nomination papers and only one candidate Mr Rozario submitted nomination within the stipulated time.
The election for a post of DSE shareholder-director was supposed to be held on December 19.
The newly elected director will join the 13-member board at the bourse's annual general meeting scheduled to be held on December 21.
The DSE board consists of seven independent directors, four shareholder directors, one from the strategic investors' category and the bourse's managing director, who have voting rights for electing the chairman only.
