US-based Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) has invited ScholarTroop to join Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2016 at Stanford University in Silicon Valley, California which is hosted by President Barack Obama.
ScholarTroop is a web-based scholarship matching and monitoring programme for meritorious and financially disadvantaged students.
"The ScholarTroop team believes that this is a big achievement for them which shows the uniqueness of this venture and reassures ScholarTroop as an appropriate tool for creating an enduring and indelible impact on corporate world and society," said Tahsin Aman, founder of ScholarTroop and also vice chairman of Aman Group of Companies.
Tahsin, an industrial engineering graduate from USA and MBA from Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University said he started the initiative to help create skilled human resources for the country's growing corporate sector.
Any student who is in need of financial assistance for his/her education can register to the website and look for scholarships. The student should be in good academic standing and ScholarTroop will give target matrix such as GPA for the student to avail and continue the scholarship.
Scholartroop has exclusive agreements with universities as well as students to exchange academic data to monitor the students progress. In addition to monitoring, ScholarTroop also mentors each of the scholarship recipients to make them stand out and face the challenges whether they want to pursue further education abroad or enhance their career with local corporates.  It does not end there, ScholarTroop ensures that all scholarship recipients have to pay back to the society through community work in various sectors.
On the other hand, donors can also register to the website, provide scholarship to students from the database and monitor their progress.
Tahsin says "This venture stands out to be unique because it provides transparency, accountability and a clear reporting system for donors that helps build a culture of philanthropy focused on education. At the same time, it gives a student the challenge to work better on education to continue the scholarship and ensures that if there is merit, there should not be any boundaries, especially financial."
"Bangladesh is a unique country where many people want to do good for the society but cannot find the right way, the right tool, to do it. We are always confused and our philanthropic souls are not satisfied and seeks to know what positive impact our donations are bringing," a statement of the company said.
ScholarTroop encourages donors to fund education with absolute transparency and gives meritorious students hope and courage to stand up, the statement added.
