Senior member of DSE expires

M. Abdul Rashid, former councillor of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), died on Wednesday at the age of 101 at Appollo Hospital.
M. Abdul Rashid is father of Ahmad Rashid Lali, immediate past president of DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh.
Late M. Abdul Rashid was one of the members of the eight-member board of directors of DSE formed in the post-liberation period on January 08, 1976, said press release.
Besides, he discharged his duty as councillor of DSE in 1977-78 and 1980-81. He got DSE membership at the outset of its journey in 1956.
Before his demise, he was the chairman of his own brokerage house 'Rashid Investment Securities Limited'.
He left four sons, two daughters, grandchildren, many relatives, friends and well-wishers.
Professor Dr. Abul Hashem, chairman of DSE and K. A. M. Majedur Rahman, managing director of DSE expressed deep grief and condolence for the grief stricken family and they prayed for the eternal peace of the demised soul.
M. Abdul Rashid was buried at Banani graveyard after the Namaz-E-Janaja at Tikatuli Jame Masjid in Dhaka.
