Shahriyar Ahsan reappointed as MD of Sadharan Bima Corporation

The government has reappointed Syed Shahriyar Ahsan as Managing Director of Sadharan Bima Corporation for next two years, said a statement.

He has been serving in the insurance industry for the last 35 years having practical experience in underwriting Aviation, Marin Hull specialized mega projects of complexity, Re-insurance, Accounts, Stock market operation, Marketing and Claims of various exposure and complexity.

Syed Shahriyar Ahsan has contributed to development of Bangladesh Insurance Industry being the member of different committiees of Insurance Development & Regulatory Authority (IDRA) & Bangladesh Insurance Association, Bangladesh Insurance Academy. He also gained experience in lease financing and Tea Garden Management during his long association with IDLC Finance Limited and National Tea Company Limited as Director.

Mr. Ahsan has attended different training courses and seminars on Insurance and Re-insurance both at home and abroad. During his long association with the industry, he has developed strong bondage with the overseas re-insurers and brokers. Furthermore, he was successful in establishing a wide network of contacts with the entrepreneurs of both large and medium scale in different sectors of industries of the country. He is also serving as a director of Central Depository Bangladesh Limited (CDBL) and Aroma Tea (BD) Limited while being a Council Member of Asian Re-insurance Corporation.
