Sheikh Kabir Hossain re-elected President of BIA

Election of Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA) Executive Committee for the year 2021-2022 was held virtually on Friday.

Sheikh Kabir Hossain was again elected President from Non-Life, Nasir Uddin Ahmed was elected First Vice President from Life and AKM Monirul Hoque was re-elected Vice President from Non Life on Friday, said a statement.

The other 17 Members of the committee were B M Yousuf Ali, Managing Director & CEO, Popular Life Insurance Co. Ltd; Syed Badrul Alam, Director, Best Life Insurance Ltd.; Faridun Nahar Laily, Chairman, Zenith Islami Life Insurance Ltd; Md. Golam Kibria, CEO, Rupali Life Insurance Co. Ltd.; Md. Ishaque Ali Khan Panna, Founder Chairman & Director, Diamond Life Insurance Co. Ltd.; Md. Jalalul Azim, Chief Executive Officer, Pragati Life Insurance Ltd.; Md. Kazim Uddin, Chief Executive Officer, National Life Insurance Co. Ltd; Mojibul Islam, Chairman, Sandhani Life Ins. Co. Ltd.; Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Chairman , Fareast Islami Life Ins. Co. Ltd. from Life Sector.

Sheikh Kabir Hossain has been serving as President of the Bangladesh Insurance Association for the last 11 years. He is now serving as Chairman of Sonar Mangla Insurance Company Ltd. He is the Ex-Chairman of Red Crescent Society, and Bangladesh Human Rights Council, Member of Privatization Commission and Member of Board of Governors, Bangladesh Open University.

Vice Principal Dr. Abdus Shahid, MP, Chairman, Chartered Life Insurance was the Chairman of the Election Commission. The other two members were M G Quddus, Chairman of Rupali Insurance and Nizam Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, Meghna Life and Karnaphuly Insurance Company.
