Ten-most traded stocks grabbed 27.64 per cent transactions of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) while Shinepukur Ceramics was the most-traded stock in the outgoing week.
Beximco Group's entities, particularly Shinepukur Ceramics and Bangladesh Export Import Company (Beximco) continued to feature in the top turnover list in the past few weeks.
According to available data with the DSE, some 50.06 million Shinepukur's shares were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 2.36 billion, which was 5.49 per cent of the week's total turnover.
The share price of Shinepukur Ceramics also climbed 22.38 per cent during the week to close at Tk 50.30 on Thursday despite the market index plunged.
The ceramic manufacturer's share price also almost doubled in three months since March 20.
Market operators said investors continued to show their buying spree on Shinepukur stock as the company reported an impressive earnings growth in the latest quarter.
The company's EPS soared more than 325 per cent year-on-year to Tk 0.17 for the January-March 2022 quarter compared to the same period of the previous year.
The company's nine months EPS that ended on March 31, 2022 also rose to Tk 0.27, up from Tk 0.14 for the same period a year earlier.
Meanwhile, the ceramic maker disbursed only 2.50 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2021. In 2020, it provided a 2.0 per cent cash dividend.
The company's authorised capital is Tk 5.0 billion and paid-up capital is Tk 1.46 billion while total number of securities is 146.96 million.
Sponsor-directors own 50 per cent stake in the company while institutional investors 6.0 per cent and the general public 44 per cent as on May 31, 2022, the DSE data showed.
Beximco came second on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 2.06 billion changing hands. The company's share price rose 1.58 per cent to close at Tk 134.60 on Thursday.
IPDC Finance clinched the third spot, with shares worth Tk 1.72 billion changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 58.60, rising 8.32 per cent.
JMI Hospital Requisite Manufacturing emerged as the fourth, with shares worth Tk 1.38 billion changing hands. Its share price rose 8.71 per cent to close at Tk 83.60.
