The board of directors of Shurwid Industries has elected the company's chairman and managing director after the complexities of holding Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Extra-ordinary General Meeting (EGM), officials said.
As per the company's information served on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the board elected Anis Ahmed as the Chairman and appointed Syeda Sayma as the new Managing Director for next five years each.
The board appointed Syeda as managing director replacing previous managing director Zahedul Hoque.
Shurwid Industries also said that the company's Board had approved the filing of case at Dhanmondi Police Station and also approved the filing of an application under section 81 and section 85 (3) of the Companies Act, 1994 before the Honorable High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
The chairman of Shurwid Industries Anis Ahmed told the FE that the company has already filed case against a shareholder director for his submission of 'fake documents' to the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC).
"The company will hold the AGM and EGM as per the schedule fixed by the High Court," said Mr. Anis.
