Sheikh Kabir Hossain and Shahida Alamin have been re-elected chairperson and vice-chairperson of Sonar Bangla Insurance Limited recently.
The Board of Directors of the company re-elected them unanimously at its 140th meeting, says a statement.
Sheikh Kabir Hossain is also the president of Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA), and chairman of Fareast Islami Life Insurance Company Ltd., Board of Trustees of Fareast International University, Bangladesh Private University Association, CDBL and National Tea Company.
He is a member of the Board of Governors of Open University Bangladesh, Regent Board Member of the University of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science & Technology and Jashore University of Science & Technology.
He is the vice-chairman of Islamia Eye Hospital and managing director of his own business organisation M/s. Kabico Limited. He is also the founder of many educational institutions.
Shahida Alamin is a Director of Shamsul Alamin Real Estate, a sister concern of Shamsul Alamin Group. She is the spouse of Jahangir Alamin, who is the chairman of Shamsul Alamin Group and former president of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA).
She is also engaged in social activities.
