Southeast Bank Limited has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank under "Second Small and Medium Sized Enterprise Development Project". The agreement was signed at Jahangir Alam Conference Hall, Bangladesh Bank, Head Office. M. Kamal Hossain, MD, Southeast Bank Limited and Md. Abul Bashar, GM of Financial Inclusion Department of BB inked the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. M. Kamal Hossain, Managing Director, Southeast Bank Limited and Mr. Md. Abul Bashar, General Manager of Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. Md. Abdur Rahim, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank was present at the signing ceremony along with other high officials of both the organisations.
Under this agreement, a refinance scheme of $240 million will be disbursed through commercial banks and NBFIs to expand financial services for the development of Cottage, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (CMSME) specially women entrepreneurs with the financial support of Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Bangladesh Government.
