Stocks continue to bleed (2019-04-24)

Stocks tumbled on Tuesday and turnover fell below Tk 3.0 billion-mark, as worried investors sold shares, fearing further fall of prices.
The market cap of DSE shed Tk 281 billion in the past three months' slump and the benchmark index eroded 690 points or 11.60 per cent during the period under review.
Analysts cited some reasons including dearth of quality stocks, lack of investors' confidence, shortage of liquidity for the erosion in stock prices.
Following the steep-fall, a group of angry investors took to the streets Tuesday and demanded resignation of M Khairul Hossain, the chief of the capital market watchdog, for what they said his failure to protect the investors' interest.
The small investors staged demonstration in front of the DSE building at Motijheel under the banner of 'Bangladesh Pujibazar Biniogkari Oikya Parishad'.
