Sufia Akter joins UCB as DMD

Prominent banker Sufia Akter has recently joined United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) as Deputy Managing Director (DMD).

She will lead the Wholesale Banking Division as DMD, says a press statement.

Prior to joining UCB, she played a pivotal role in establishing the Transaction Banking Department in Bank Asia.

With over 26 years of experience, she has worked at leading global and local financial institutions including HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, The City Bank, Meghna Bank and Bank Asia.

Sufia Akter is a graduate of the globally recognised Future CEO Programme and the Future CEO Leadership Recharge Programme (WSDA New Zealand).

Commenting on joining UCB, Sufia Akter said, "I am excited to be part of UCB's transformation journey and look forward to contributing to building a stronger, more innovative, and client-focused Corporate Banking platform."
