Tarique Amin The securities regulator has approved the appointment of Md. Tarique Amin Bhuiyan as managing director of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
In a letter sent to the premier bourse DSE, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on Tuesday accorded its approval in favour of Mr. Bhuiyan's appointment.
Mr. Bhuiyan, an IT adviser, is the founder CEO and CTPO of Hashkloud Pty Limited, Sydney.
He was also the CEO at bKash Limited, a subsidiary of BRAC Bank.
On October 20, Kazi Sanaul Hoq resigned as the DSE managing director and the MD's post remained vacant since January 9, 2021.
The DSE for several times had sought applications from eligible candidates for the position of managing director. But the premier bourse failed to appoint its managing director.
Finally, the DSE nominated the name Mr. Bhuiyan on Monday and the securities regulator approved his appointment on Tuesday.
