Ten cos snare 32pc turnover of DSE

Ten most-traded companies captured more than 32 per cent transactions on the prime bourse on Sunday.
National Tubes generated the highest turnover.
National Tube's share price also soared 48 per cent or Tk 54.80 each in the past one month without having any undisclosed price sensitive information.
However, the company informed the DSE that there is no undisclosed price sensitive information of the company for recent unusual price hike and increase in volume of shares.
Market analysts said investors showed their appetite throughout the session for National Tubes shares ahead of dividend declaration as the company's financial year ended on June 30.
According to statistics available with the DSE, about 1.93 million shares of National Tubes were traded, generating a turnover of nearly 323 million, which was 10.18 per cent of the day's total turnover.
The total turnover on the DSE stood at Tk 3.17 billion on Sunday, down from Tk 4.05 billion in the previous session.
The company's share closed at Tk 170.20 each on the day, gaining 1.37 per cent over the previous day.
In the past one year, its share hovered between Tk 98.30 and Tk 172.
The company's earnings per share (EPS) stood at negative Tk 0.96 for July 2018-March 2019 as against negative Tk 2.24 for July 2017-March 2018.
The net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) was Tk 0.03 for July 2018-March 2019 as against negative Tk 1.26 for July 2017-March 2018.
The net asset value (NAV) per share was Tk 175.07 as on March 31, 2019 and Tk 193.62 as on June 30, 2018.
The National Tubes, which was listed on the DSE in 1989, disbursed 10 per cent stock dividend in 2018.
The company's paid-up capital is Tk 316.56 million and authorised capital is Tk 1.0 billion while total number of securities is 31.65 million.
The sponsor-directors own 0.05 per cent stake in the company, while the government owns 51 per cent, institutional investors own 20.14 per cent and the general public 28.81 per cent as of August 31, 2019, the DSE data showed.
JMI Syringes came second on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 144 million changing hands. The company's share price fell 5.61 per cent to close at Tk 491.60 each.
Beacon Pharma clinched the third spot, with shares worth Tk 88 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 28 each, losing 2.44 per cent.
Wata Chemicals emerged fourth, with shares worth Tk 83 million changing hands. The company's share fell 3.0 per cent to close at Tk 632.80 each.
Legacy Footwear notched the fifth spot, with shares worth Tk 73 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 131.90 each, losing 0.59 per cent.
The turnover of United Power was Tk 71 million. The company's share closed at Tk 319.40, shedding 0.53 per cent.
Eastern Cables featured a turnover of Tk 62 million. The company's share price rose 5.22 per cent to close at Tk 288 each.
The turnover of Stylecraft was Tk 61 million. The company's share price plunged 7.49 per cent to close at Tk 813.70 each.
Bangas featured a turnover of Tk 60 million. The company's share closed at Tk 312.60 each, losing 2.16 per cent over the previous session.
The VFS Thread Dyeing also made its way to the top 10 turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 60 million changing hands. The company's share shed 4.02 per cent to close at Tk 23.90 each.
