Ten top-traded cos clinch 31pc turnover

The top 10-traded companies captured nearly 31 per cent transaction of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Wednesday, with Brac Bank topping the list.
Market insiders said the investors were active in buying Brac Bank shares throughout the session amid optimism as the recorded 35 per cent growth in year-on-year net profit (consolidated) in the year ended on December 31, 2017.
According to statistics available with the DSE, about 4.88 million shares of Brac Bank were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 492 million. It was 9.0 per cent of the premier bourse's total transaction.
The fifth largest market-cap company's share price traded between Tk 92 and Tk 103.50 each, before closing at Tk 100.30, advancing 1.52 per cent over the previous session.
Apart from Brac Bank, the most other active shares in terms of value included IFAD Autos, Unique Hotel & Resorts, Beximco, Aamra Networks, Dragon Sweater, Monno Ceramic, Rupali Life Insurance, Zaheen Spinning and LankaBangla Finance.
