Ten turnover toppers grab 29.05pc of weekly trade value

Beximco leads turnover chart with Tk 3.32b

Top 10 turnover leaders grabbed 29.05 per cent of the total value of issues traded on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) last week.

In the week, shares worth Tk 35.84 billion changed hands on the country's premier bourse, of which Tk 10.41 billion came from transactions of issues of the 10 companies.

Out of the ten toppers, four companies were also in the chart of the week's top 10 gainers.

Beximco led the turnover leaders with a value of Tk 3.32 billion and grabbed 9.29 per cent of the weekly market turnover.

The company's share price declined 8.44 per cent in the week and closed at Tk 117.10 each on Thursday, the last trading day.

Of the other leaders, Malek Spinning Mills posted a turnover of Tk 1.12 billion which was 3.13 per cent of the total value of the weekly trade.

The company's share price declined 3.93 per cent in the week and closed at Tk 34.20 each on Thursday.

Intraco Refueling Station posted a turnover of Tk 1.07 billion or 3.01 per cent of the market turnover in the week. Its share price advanced 9.80 per cent and became the week's third gainer on the DSE.

Sea Pearl Beach Resort & Spa captured 2.35 per cent of the weekly market turnover, posting a value of Tk 843.52 million.

The company was the week's second gainer as its share price advanced 11.62 per cent and closed at Tk 38.10 on Thursday.

Olympic Industries posted a turnover of Tk 804.61 million or 2.24 per cent of the weekly total. The company's share price declined 9.11 per cent in the last seven days and closed at Tk 123.70.

Sonali Paper & Board Mills posted a turnover of Tk 665.93 million which was 1.83 per cent of the total weekly value of shares traded. Its share price advanced 6.91 per cent in the seven days and closed at Tk 696.50 on Thursday.

The company was also in the top 10 gainers' chart on the premier bourse.

Coppertech Industries posted a turnover of Tk 6.56.24 million, which was 1.83 per cent of the weekly total. Its share price advanced 7.69 per cent in the week and closed at Tk 43.40.

Of the other leaders, Maksons Spinning Mills, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh and Orion Infusion accounted for Tk 652.27 million, Tk 647.35 million and Tk 613.59 million respectively in turnover in the week.
