A cow funding initiative of Sundalun/Hossain, a Swedish-Bangladeshi brand producing sustainable leather products made in Bangladesh and selling to global market was inaugurated on Sunday at Chaghat upazilla of Rajshahi.
Swedish Ambassador to Bangladesh Charlotta Schlyter was the chief guest on the occasion.
She said "We should try to connect people to people from east and west to focus on development. It is more important that we exchange our feeling through different development initiatives and sustainable business".
She also mentioned that she was very proud to see Sandlund/Hossain took an initiative where Swedish people contribute for the welfare of a Bangladeshi family and they come to know each other more and more.
Through the Cow Funder Initiative Sandlun/Hosssain aims to distribute 250 calves to poor village families in Charghat and Bagatipara upazilla as pilot project together with Thanapara Swallows Development Society to create sustainable leather supply chain.
She handed over calves to the village women.
Raihan Ali, Executive Director of Thanapara Swallows Development Society presided over the programme and Nazmul Haque, UNO of Charghat Upazilla, Jan Sandlund, Bark Tanner, Anders Sandlund and Imrul Ahmed Tulin Co founders of Sandlund/Hossain, Annika Ostman, customer relations manager of Sandlund/Hossain and Nusrat Jahan Lata, Merchandiser of an Austrian Brand were also was present in the programme, said a statement.
