Titas Gas Q3 EPS erodes substantially

The earnings per share (EPS) of Titas Gas Transmission & Distribution Company Limited declined substantially in the January-March quarter of 2018 from the same period of previous year.
According to the company's quarterly disclosure, the EPS declined 95 per cent in the third quarter (Q3) from the same quarter of 2017.
On April 15, the company's board of directors considered, among others, the un-audited financial statements for the Q3 ended on March 31, 2018.
As per the un-audited quarterly statement, the company's EPS stood at Tk 0.66 in the Q3 as against Tk. 1.45 in the Q3 of 2017.
The EPS was Tk 2.52 during the period from July 2017 to March 2018 as against Tk 3.36 for July 2016 to March 2017.
The company also reported its net asset value (NAV) per share of Tk 65.83 as on March 31, 2018 and Tk 65.49 as on June 30, 2017.
The company's net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) was Tk (3.97), a negative value, from July 2017 to March 2018 as against Tk (0.14), a negative value, from July 2016 to March 2017 period.
The company's quarterly disclosure for January-March, 2018 came on April 16, following which the company's share price declined 2.14 per cent or Tk 0.9 to close at Tk 41 per share on April 16. On Thursday, the company's share trading closed at Tk 40.70 per share.
Earlier, on March 28, the share trading of Titas Gas closed at Tk 38.70 each. Later, the company's share price jumped to Tk 42.20 in nine trading sessions as on April 10. Afterwards, the company's share price declined to Tk 40.70 each as of Thursday last.
According to information of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the government holds 75 per cent shares of Titas Gas Transmission & Distribution Company while institutions 13.41 per cent and general shareholders 9.45 per cent shares.
