Top-9 Sensex cos add Rs 1.39t in m-cap

NEW DELHI, May 18 (PTI): The combined market valuation of top nine Sensex firms advanced by a whopping Rs 1.39 trillion with energy majors ONGC and RIL emerging as the star performers, while TCS saw a marginal dip last week when stock market recorded life-time highs.
Barring TCS, which is the most valued Indian firm in terms of market capitalisation, the rest nine of the top 10 including ITC, CIL and HDFC Bank saw a cumulative addition of Rs 1396.04 billion in their m-cap.
The market valuation of ONGC surged Rs 318.26 billion to Rs 3293.44 billion, helping it become the top gainer in the domestic market capitalisation chart.
RIL's value soared Rs 268.76 billion to Rs 3492.46 billion. Coal India's m-cap zoomed by Rs 231.17 billion to Rs 2183.25 billion.
The m-cap of SBI gained Rs 180.37 billion to Rs 1802.45 billion, HDFC Bank surged Rs 114.05 billion to Rs 1932.11 billion and ICICI Bank added Rs 104.11 billion to end with Rs 1692.30 billion valuation.
