Dhaka Bank Limited recently signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sandhani (a blood donation voluntary institution) and Exhort (a software development institution) for developing the first ever blood bank management software and supporting website in Bangladesh.
After the signing ceremony, Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director & CEO, Dhaka Bank Limited, handed over a cheque for Tk. 1.0 million to Professor Dr. Tosaddek Hossain Siddiqui Jamal for developing and implementing the software and supporting website.

Anyone can conveniently search for a specific blood type at any given time by using this supporting website. Moreover, through software part of the project, all Sandhani units across Bangladesh will be updated graphically about demand and supply of different blood groups; informed who is eligible to donate today and in subsequent dates with information of interested, flexible and non-interested blood donor; automate SMS to donor when they are eligible to donate and custom texts; AI-driven suggestion suggest them to do list according to supply and demand predictions.
During emergency the demand side of blood can easily search the required blood group in the supporting website and can easily identify in which location or in which unit of Sandhani has his/her required blood group, which will eventually increase the efficiency of the volunteers; reduce the chances of blood wastage due to blood short expiry date; bridge the available blood resources nationwide which will ensure safe blood and service efficiency.
One of the important aspects of this platform is that other volunteer blood donation institution can attach them under this platform whenever they want which will ultimately make a synergic effect in country's blood bank management system.
Khandaker Anwar Ehtesham, First Vice President & Head of Communications and Branding Division, Dhaka Bank and Tanvir Hassan Iqbal, President, SANDHANI Central Committee along with other officials of these organizations were also present at the signing ceremony.
