Trust Bank, BFIU to boost anti-money laundering efforts

A regional workshop titled "Proactive Transaction Monitoring - Finding Key Indicators for Detecting Money Laundering" organised by Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) and hosted by Trust Bank PLC, was held at a local hotel in Cox's Bazar recently.

A regional workshop titled "Proactive Transaction Monitoring - Finding Key Indicators for Detecting Money Laundering" was held at a local hotel in Cox's Bazar recently.

The event was organised by the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) and hosted by Trust Bank PLC, says a press release.

AKM Golam Mahmud, Director of BFIU, attended the workshop as the chief guest while ABM Moinul Hasib, Head of the Anti-Money Laundering Division of Trust Bank PLC, was the special guest.

Ruman Ahmed, Additional Director, BFIU, led the workshop as team leader.

Officials from different banks in the Cox's Bazar region participated in the workshop, which featured interactive discussions and expert-led sessions on enhancing automated monitoring, developing early alert mechanisms, and identifying effective risk indicators to combat money laundering.

The workshop encouraged collaboration among financial institutions and emphasised the importance of proactive transaction monitoring to uphold transparency and safeguard Bangladesh's financial integrity.
