Turkey seeks to expand cooperation in jute sector

Turkey has expressed keen interest to expand bilateral cooperation with Bangladesh in textile and jute sectors for mutual benefits of the two countries.

Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan expressed his country's interests during a meeting with Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi at his secretariat office on Wednesday.

They discussed issues relating to trade and other bilateral matters.

The minister expressed the hope that Turkish entrepreneurs would invest more in textile and jute sectors in Bangladesh.

He said Bangladesh produces best quality of jute and many high quality jute products.

Bangladesh wants to increase the shipments of jute and jute goods to Turkey in the future, he added.

The Turkish ambassador assured the minister that his country would import more jute and jute goods in the coming days.
