Xpress Money, Farmers Bank efforts to boost remittance inflow

Xpress Money, the world's leading money transfer brand, recently inaugurated its operations at Farmers Bank Limited.
Sudhesh Giriyan, COO of Xpress Money, Shamim Ifthakhar, Country Manager-Bangaldesh, Xpress Money along with Dr. Mohd. Athar Uddin, Vice Chairman, Farmers Bank  were present on the occasion.
"The latest tie-up with Farmers Bank Limited will strengthen Xpress Money's presence in key remittance pockets of the country, giving convenient access to its consumers. Farmers Bank has 31 branches across the country," a statement said Wednesday.
"With a track record of success in Bangladesh, we have been steadily expanding our network, with  local consumers forming an important part of the strategy. We believe localising our services and adding value to transactions will further strengthen our bond with the consumer. Our innovative  services and rapid turnaround time, combined with our ability to adapt to unique consumer requirements is gaining preference for the brand," said Mr. Iftakhar.
The money transfer brand has planned a number of associations with significant banks and aims to further extend its services to consumers in remote areas.
Xpress  Money also ran a'Up0har Mela', a sixty-day special remittance campaign to add value to consumer. During the campaign, beneficiaries in Bangladesh got a chance to win mobile handsets, colour TVs and a motor bike.
