The newly-launched "Lokkhi Kotha" offers strong and viable alternative to foreign messaging products such as Skype, Viber, Hangouts and others.

Rational Technologies introduced ‘Lokkhi Kotha’, a mobile application for Bangladeshi Android smartphone users in Digital World 2015.

In addition to existing general users, Lokkhi's Enterprise version is available for government, business and other organizational users seeking a powerful tool for their internal communication and collaboration needs.

The Lokkhi platform (www.lokkhi.io) to provide an easy-to-use web-based real-time communication and collaboration tool meeting the needs of new and experienced Bangladeshi internet users. Lokkhi allows users to avail video and audio conferencing services, as well integrated bangla-based text chatting. Other features include joint document & media sharing, sketching & editing and all services are available for free on smartphones, tablets and computers through the lokkhi.io site. Tashfin Delwar, COO of Rational Technologies, spoke of the popularity of Lokkhi: "our user base has grown organically and now comprises of over 56,000 users in 93 countries. This time our communication engine is more improved and we are offering a wide range of new innovative services like rapid file transfer, live chatting support for the websites and advanced services such as webinar and live streaming."

Ataul Mukit, CTO of Rational Technologies and the chief architect of Lokkhi described Lokkhi Kotha as bringing the best and most popular features of lokkhi.io to mobile users. "We responded to public demand for an app that allows public and group chat in bangla; cross-platform messaging between web and mobile users; and the ability to find, listen and share music from the web. We also have a location feature that allows mobile users to find any Lokkhi web or app users in their geographic vicinity."

"The rapid expansion of ICT in Bangladesh has seen a tremendous growth in the number of Bangladeshis who are using the internet for social, business and educational purposes. Ever greater number of people are now in a position to benefit from the investments in training and tools available to the public," a statement of Rational Technologies said.

"Unfortunately advances in hardware and infrastructure have not been matched by corresponding advances in software development. Bangladeshi users are still forced to use software and tools created for the use of western and other developed nations."

To allow all Bangladeshis to benefit fully from the IT revolution, Rational Technologies Ltd has already developed a 'suite of communication and collaboration products' specifically designed for use in the Bangladeshi internet environment.
