Banglalink, one of Bangladesh's leading digital communication service providers, has been honored with the prestigious 'Project Management Awards 2024', conferred by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Bangladesh.
This recognition celebrates the company's exceptional execution of the 'Cumilla DC DR Project', which earned accolades in three key categories: Project of the Year, Project Manager of the Year, and runner-up in Program Management Office (PMO) of the Year.
The award ceremony took place recently at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka, attracting a distinguished audience of business leaders and project management professionals.
The Cumilla DC DR Project underscores Banglalink's commitment to ensuring uninterrupted digital services during disruptions caused by technical failures, cyberattacks, or natural disasters. The deployment of the Disaster Recovery (DR) Data Center has significantly strengthened the company's network resilience, safeguarding critical systems and enabling rapid recovery in emergencies. This initiative is particularly vital in a disaster-prone country like Bangladesh, where uninterrupted digital connectivity is essential for maintaining customer services and protecting infrastructure.
Since 2022, Banglalink has invested heavily in its network infrastructure to build a secure, stable, and future-ready system capable of meeting the nation's growing digital demands. The Disaster Recovery Data Center has been instrumental in supporting innovative services such as broadband, IoT, mobile internet, and digital entertainment. Speaking about the achievement, Huseyin Turker, Chief Technology and Information Officer at Banglalink, emphasized the importance of advanced infrastructure for driving digital transformation. He noted that the Disaster Recovery Data Center ensures network stability and is designed to tackle disruptions, including natural disasters, which are critical for Bangladesh's context. He expressed delight in receiving recognition for the team's efforts in building a resilient infrastructure.
The awards also acknowledged the exceptional contributions of Banglalink's Technology Team in ensuring business continuity. Key team members, including S M Al Maimun, Head of Enterprise Network Service, IT, and Md Faisal Islam, Technology Transformation Principal Engineer, accepted the honors on behalf of the organization. Other officials from Banglalink present at the event included Mohammad Faysal Khan, Deputy Director, IT, and Masum Akond, Deputy Director, Core Network Management.
