22 entities get BSTI ISO certification

BSTI Director General SM Ferdous Alam handed over ISO certificates to the representatives of 22 business organisations at a ceremony held at the BSTI headquarters in the city's Tejgaon industrial area on Sunday.


Some 22 business entities on Sunday received ISO certifications from the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) for ensuring quality management.
BSTI Director General SM Ferdous Alam handed over the certificates to the representatives of the business organisations at a ceremony held at the BSTI headquarters in the city's Tejgaon industrial area on Sunday, a statement said.
First vice president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Amin Helaly and senior officials of the BSTI were present at the ceremony.
The ISO 9001:2015 certification is provided for quality management systems. The companies receiving the certifications include Loven Bioscience Beverage Limited, Sena Kalyan Electronics, JHM Agarwood, Naved Engineering Works, Alamgir Construction, the Rani Re-Rolling Mills, Fulkoli Bread and Biscuit Industries, Basic Power Engineering, ABS Cables, LifeMed Polymer Technology, N Mohammad Plastic Industries Limited, Herbs World, Annex Limited, Apex Metal, Nita Company Limited, and ABC Construction Chemical.
Besides, ISO 14001:2015 certification for environment management was given to JHM Agarwood, Peoria Food Products Ltd, ABS Cables, and N Mohammed Plastic Industries Limited.
Vitalac Dairy and Food Industries, Nourish Foods Limited, Care Nutrition Limited, Prime Pusti Limited, and Jabed Agro Food Processing Limited received ISO 22000:2018 certification on food management.
Also, JHM Agarwood was awarded ISO 45001:2018 certification for occupational health and safety management.
So many companies received the ISO certifications indicates the country is advancing in terms of product quality and management, said SM Ferdous Alam
"The more efficient institutions the country will have, the more developed the country will be," he said.
The BSTI has also started the process of issuing 'Halal' certificate aiming to expand the country's export basket, he said, adding that a holistic development in every sector could help the country become a developed country by 2041.
