Air Asia CEO in city to launch flights formally

Air Asia Berhad Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Aireen Omar arrived in the city Wednesday on a two-day visit to attend the inaugural ceremony of the Malaysia-based budget carrier in Bangladesh.
Local general sales agent (GSA) of airline Total Air Services (TAS) will organise the inaugural ceremony at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in the city this (Thursday) evening, a release said.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon and Malaysian High Commissioner in Dhaka Norlin Othman will be present at the event.
Aireen Omar joined Air Asia Berhad on July 1, 2012. She is also an executive director of the company.
A total of 7000 staff members are working under her leadership now operating flights in more than 62 destinations. Aireen Omar has won several awards for her outstanding performance in her professional career.
