Apollo Hospitals hosts 'Int'l CME Program for Doctors'

Apollo Hospitals Chennai, in collaboration with Apollo Clinic Dhanmondi, Dhaka, organised an 'International Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program for Doctors' on Sunday.

The event brought together nearly 100 Bangladeshi medical students, postgraduate residents, and consultant physicians to exchange knowledge with internationally renowned experts in robotic urology, laparoscopic surgery, and endoscopic procedures, says a press statement.

The CME program was held on the premises of Apollo Clinic Dhanmondi in Dhaka and featured two scientific sessions titled "Advantages of Robotics in Prostate and Renal Tumors" and "Laparoscopic Adrenalectomy in the Modern Era".

The keynote presentations were delivered by Dr. Deepak Raghavan, Senior Consultant and Robotic Urology Surgeon, Apollo Hospitals Chennai, and Prof. Dr. Md. Nasir Uddin (Kajol), Senior Consultant, Department of Urology, Apollo Clinic Dhanmondi.

The program was moderated by Dr. Tamjeed Alam, Chief Executive Officer of Apollo Clinic Dhanmondi.

This CME program further strengthened the collaboration between JMI Specialized Hospital PLC, one of Bangladesh's leading healthcare providers, and Apollo Hospitals. The partnership aims to provide Bangladeshi patients with reliable, world-class healthcare services locally, reducing the need to seek treatment abroad while supporting the country's healthcare advancement.

During the event, Apollo Clinic Dhanmondi also highlighted several of its key clinical achievements, including serving more than 15,000 outpatient (OPD) patients, treating over 1,800 inpatient (IPD) cases, and successfully performing more than 1,000 surgical procedures.

The clinic further reported a surgical site infection (SSI) rate of less than 1%, reflecting its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and quality of care.
