Faqir Mahbub Anam, Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, attended a high-level roundtable discussion at the 'UN Public Service Forum 2026' held in Tbilisi, Georgia on Thursday.

Bangladesh has reaffirmed its commitment to building an inclusive and citizen-centric digital governance system, with a focus on expanding access to public services through Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and strengthening public participation in decision-making.
Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Faqir Mahbub Anam reiterated commitment while speaking at a high-level roundtable discussion during the UN Public Service Forum 2026 in Tbilisi on Thursday, according to a press release, issued by the ministry.
Addressing the forum, the minister said Bangladesh views DPI not merely as a technological initiative but as a key instrument for ensuring good governance and equitable access to public services.
"To Bangladesh, DPI is not merely a matter of technology; rather, it is a core instrument of good governance. Our objective is to ensure that a citizen living in the most remote area can access public services with the same ease as a resident of the capital city," he said.
The minister said the government, under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, remains committed to establishing a digital-first governance model aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing citizen engagement.
He informed the forum that citizens currently have access to a range of integrated public services through platforms including the government payment gateway EkPay, the myGov application, the National Web Portal and the national helpline 333.
The government is also working towards ensuring affordable, high-quality internet connectivity and access to smart devices for all citizens within the next three years, he added.
Highlighting mechanisms for public feedback and accountability, Mr Anam said citizens can directly submit opinions and complaints through the Cabinet Division's Grievance Redress System (GRS) and the e-Participation platform.
He further said the government has planned to introduce an e-Participation Ranking system to strengthen institutional accountability and encourage greater responsiveness among public agencies.
The minister's remarks underscored Bangladesh's broader efforts to leverage digital technologies to improve governance, expand access to services and promote greater citizen participation in public administration, the press release added.
