BIFPCL distributes 2,000 blankets in Bagerhat-

Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company Limited (BIFPCL) has distributed a total of 2,000 blankets to cold-stricken, helpless and underprivileged people in Bagerhat as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The blankets were handed out simultaneously in Gourambha, Rajnagar and Hurka unions in Rampal upazila on Tuesday, in cooperation with the Bagerhat District Administration and Rampal Upazila Administration, says a press statement.

Ramanath Pujari, Project Director of BIFPCL, presided over the blanket distribution programme. Deputy Commissioner of Bagerhat district Golam Md Baten was present as the chief guest and Rampal Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tamanna Ferdousi as the special guest.

The event was also attended by Emmanuel Ponraj, Chief Finance Officer of BIFPCL, G. M. Tariqul Islam, General Manager (I/C), along with other officials and employees of BIFPCL.

Local residents expressed their satisfaction upon receiving the quality blankets.

The BIFPCL has implemented the 2X660 MW Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant (Rampal Power Plant) as a joint venture between Bangladesh and India. The plant has been supplying electricity to the national grid on a continuous basis since December 2022.
