Bumper Boro output likely in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, Mar 19 (BSS): Farmers and agricultural official in the districts are expect bumper boro output this season as the crop is growing excellent under favourable climate conditions.

2.5 per cent more land have been used to cultivate boro in the district this season then the target fixed by the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE).

The farmers have engaged in all-out efforts in making the Boro farming programme successful.

The farmers have finally brought 56,070 hectares of land under Boro

farming against the target 54,710 hectares fixed by the DAE this season.

They said if the climate remain favourable till the production of paddy

will be exceeded then the fixed target of production 1,62,000 tonnes of rice this year.

DAE sources said, government has provided quality seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and agri-loan to farmers.
