The Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) organises a seven-day 'Special Service Week' from May 11 to 19 on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of CAG.
As part of this programme, the Comptroller and Auditor General Md Nurul Islam visited the Office of the Controller General of Accounts and inspected special service activities conducted by 50 Chief Accounts and Finance Officer (CAFO) offices under various ministries, divisions, directorates and departments.
During the visit, Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General (Senior) Md. Shariful Islam and Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General (A&R) Miazzi Md. Saifullah Sobhan were present, says a press statement.
The activities inspected included services provided to pensioners and other service recipients, such as payment of salaries and allowances, immediate resolution of pension-related issues, life verification and awareness about related mobile applications, settlement of matters related to the General Provident Fund (GPF), operation of One-Stop Service Centers, help desks, and various automation initiatives.
During the visit, the C&AG exchanged views with the concerned officials and employees.
The C&AG highlighted the government's commitment to providing quick, transparent and quality services to the people. He stated that:
As part of the Service Week, special service activities are being conducted in 17 Audit Directorates, CGA offices, 50 CAFO offices, 8 divisions, 64 districts, and 495 upazilas, as well as in CBBF, SFC, FC offices, Area FC/FPO offices located in various cantonments, ADG Finance Bangladesh Railway, FA&CAO offices, DFA offices in Dhaka, Chattogram and Rajshahi, and all audit and accounts offices across Bangladesh.
