Chinese goods imports down for first time in 7 years

BEIJING, May 02 (Xinhua):In 2023, the import value of Chinese goods was nearly 17 percent lower than in 2022. This was the first decline since 2016. Fewer Chinese computers, laptops and tablets were imported, in particular. More of these products are now coming from Taiwan. Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reports this on the basis of newly released figures.
The Netherlands imported goods from China to the value of 104.3 billion euros in 2023. That was 20.8 billion euros less than a year earlier. The value of both true imorts and goods in transit fell.
