Gold futures rise 0.56pc on firm global cues
NEW DELHI, Sep 17: Gold prices rose by Rs 173 to Rs 30,600 per ten gram in futures trade Monday as speculators raised their bets amid a firming trend overseas. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in December was trading higher by Rs 173, or 0.56 per cent, at Rs 30,830 per ten gram in a business turnover of 23 lots. The yellow metal for delivery in October too gained Rs 164 or 0.54 per cent to Rs 30,600 per ten gram in 318 lots. — PTI
15th China Trade Fair kicks off in Amman
AMMAN, Sept 17: The 15th China Trade Fair kicked off in the Jordanian capital Amman on Sunday, with the participation of more than 80 Chinese exhibitors and 175 booths. The three-day event was launched by the Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Pan Weifang, and the Jordanian Minister of Industry and Trade Tariq Hammouri. — Xinhua
Iran-Turkey trade hit $1.6b in five months
TEHRAN, Sept 17: Iran and Turkey traded 1.47 million tons of non-oil commodities worth 1.60 billion US dollars during the first five months (March 21-Aug. 22) of the current Iranian fiscal year, Eghtesadonline news website reported on Sunday. The figures display a 1.23 per cent boost in weight and 15.27 per cent decline in value compared with last year's corresponding period, according to the report. Iran mainly exported kraft paper, non-alloy zinc, semi-finished non-alloy iron and steel products to Turkey during the five-month period. — Xinhua
