Focus on pvt sector’s role in sustainable farming

Wahida Akter, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), was present as the chief guest and Reed J. Aeschliman, Mission Director of USAID, as a special guest.

Dr Shaikh Mohammad Bokhtiar, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), presided over the workshop.

The focus of the workshop was on how private organisations can play a key role in promoting climate-smart agriculture in Bangladesh.

The workshop identified ways for both private and public sectors to team up to kickstart innovative CSA products and activities with a view to promoting sustainable agriculture in 21 districts of southern Bangladesh.
